I am new to the purebred industry, but not the cattle industry. I have 4 bull calves this year (my 2nd purebred calf crop). I am wondering when I should wean these bulls, I notice that bull calves seem to be weaned earlier than heifers and steers. I would also really appreciate any advise on feeding and raising bull calves.

Thanks!

B

Forum: New Breeders

This forum is a wonderful opportunity for breeders to work together for a common goal. this goal would be to produce a better product, whether it be breeding stock, commercial cattle or finish cattle. Every year we spend millions of dollars in research to develop a more efficient production method. as farmers/ranchers we tend to be too proud of selfish to help or spread some of our ideas around. In sports there is a saying that there is no I in team. meaning that we have to be a team player to actally be on the team. This business of producing livestock is a very risky business and to succeed we have to help each other. Also we have to take our hats off to the producers of this sight. Great job to all who have put long hours into the building of it. There has not been any action on this for the better part of two years. We asked them to build it, all we as producers have to do is use it. I look at the views are in the hundreds but the actual posted items are but a handfull. Merry Christmas, may health and happiness be with you thru out the year.

Forum: New Breeders
